The Rougarou Baseball Club was founded in the Bossier City/Shreveport, LA area in the fall of 2019 and expanded into Softball in the fall of 2023. With exceptionally high organizational standards and a collaborative environment, our club is highly sought after and easily replicable in new markets with the right leadership and team.

Coach Travis Hatten
Founder
With a coaching career that began in 1987, Coach Travis Hatten brings a wealth of experience and a legacy of success to the Rougarou program. Renowned for his numerous championships, Travis currently serves as the General Manager of the Rawlings Tigers program. In this multifaceted role, he oversees staff management, program development, coaching, teaching baseball, customer service, regional program growth, player development, college resources, recruiting, and more.
Travis's relentless dedication to the club has established him as a tremendous asset to the Rougarou program. His deep involvement extends beyond coaching; he has been an active board member of Bossier Little League for over a decade and leverages a vast network of baseball contacts, both locally and nationally, cultivated from his playing days and his work in building the Rougarou.
This extensive experience and network have enabled Coach Hatten to assemble a top-tier coaching staff, positioning the Rougarou brand for continued success and future growth. His commitment to excellence and passion for the game make him a cornerstone for the Rougarou organization.

Coach Gary Moore
CFO / Founding Leader
Since starting his coaching career in 2012, Coach Gary Moore has leveraged his extensive experience in both playing and coaching across multiple sports to lead the Rougarou program with distinction. As the chief financial officer and founding leader of the Rougarou, Coach Gary brings a wealth of multi-sport championships and a comprehensive skill set to his role. He manages staff, oversees player sponsorship programs, coaches the 8U Coach pitch team and handles customer service, program growth, player development, coaching resources, recruiting, and much, much, more.
Coach Gary’s relentless dedication to the Rougarou make him a vital asset to our program. His commitment extends beyond coaching; he has spearheaded our community service and sponsorship outreach programs, utilizing a broad network of sports and business contacts both locally and nationally. Built from his extensive business experience and playing career, which plays a crucial role in the development and expansion of the Rougarou.
Coach Gary’s extensive experience and connections have been instrumental in positioning the Rougarou brand for ongoing success and future growth. His commitment to excellence, coupled with his passion for the players and the game, make him a cornerstone to the Rougarou.

Whitney Carswell
Marketing Director
As the Director of Marketing Operations for the Rougarou Baseball and Softball Club, Mrs. Whitney Carswell plays a crucial role in the success of our organization. With exceptional organizational and administrative skills, Whitney manages all day-to-day marketing responsibilities with impressive efficiency.
Whitney’s customer-first approach and positive attitude shine through in everything she does. Her willingness to volunteer and her availability to help wherever needed make her an invaluable part of the Rougarou team. She is deeply involved in managing the website, coordinating uniforms, promoting programs, and handling player registrations.
A true people person, Whitney is passionate about her work and dedicated to creating a positive experience for everyone involved. The Rougarou is incredibly fortunate to have her as part of our organization. As everyone knows, you either run Whit the Rougarou or from the Rougarou—and Whitney exemplifies why running with us is always a great choice!

Mike Martinez
6U & T-ball
Coming off a dominant fall season, Coach Mike Martinez enters his first spring season with the Rougarou 6U.
As a former multi-sport athlete, he believes in well-rounded development, effort, and respect, creating a positive environment where players can learn, improve, and have fun.

Marco Poindexter
6U
Coach Marco Poindexter brings leadership, experience, and a strong commitment to player development.
A former college baseball player at BPCC and the University of Arkansas–Monticello, Coach Poindexter emphasizes fundamentals, discipline, and teamwork while creating a positive, competitive environment. His goal is to help athletes grow in confidence, skill, and love for the game.
Coming off a dominant fall season, Coach Marco enters his first spring season with the Rougarou 6U.

Coach David Wells
7 U
Coach David Wells is going into his third year with the Rougarou after having made an impressive debut with our 6U T-Ball team in the Spring 2024 season. In the team’s time in T-ball his team went undefeated in three seasons, setting a high standard for player development and team performance. He led the Bossier Little League T-ball team to the state playoffs where they unfortunately fell short of defending the 2024 BLL T-ball state title.
Under Coach Wells' leadership, the Rougarou 2024 6U T-Ball team emerged as a dominant force in the league, culminating the season as the Bossier City Little League T-ball Champions. His dedication to nurturing young talent and instilling a genuine love for the game has been evident from his start with the Rougarou.
His team from 2025 has stayed intact and moved up to Coach Pitch in the Fall 2025 season and is looking forward to continuing success as they grow into the new age bracket for the 2026 Spring season. He leans heavily on the experience of the other coaches on the team and is looking forward to learning from them and applying that knowledge going forward.
Coach Wells brings a dynamic combination of enthusiasm, growing expertise, and an unwavering passion for baseball to his role. His focus on baseball fundamentals and skills development ensures that each player has the opportunity to thrive both on and off the field. With his guidance, the 7U Rougarou team is poised for another successful season, continuing to build on the strong Rougarou foundation he has established.

Coach Adrian Tamplin
7 U
1995 Henderson Tx High School graduate..
2000 Southern Arkansas University Graduate
BACHELOR SCIENCE IN EDUCATION.
4 Year Football Letterman Defensive Back.
His father was the High School Baseball Coach in Henderson for 20 years so Coach Tamplin grew up with the fundamentals to teach the younger generation.
He is married to Katie Tamplin and have 2 boys Bryce 21 and Benjamin 6

Coach Nate Edwards

Coach Nate brings over 30 years of championship-level athletic experience to the Rougarou family. With an extensive background in strength and conditioning, he has been developing world-class athletes since 2005. His experience as both a high-level competitor and a human performance coach provides our youth with a strong foundation as they begin their athletic journey.
Focusing on long-term athletic development and injury prevention, Coach Nate’s philosophy emphasizes building each player’s strength and speed while fostering a blue-collar work ethic. The goal is to promote lifelong participation in athletics and a genuine love for the game. Our expectation is that Rougarou players will be the most well-conditioned athletes on the field, allowing their skills to shine without fatigue diminishing their confidence.
The benefits extend far beyond baseball—we are committed to developing hardworking kids with big hearts.

Coach Aaron Cosby

Coach Aaron Cosby brings a diverse coaching background and a strong commitment to athlete development. He has spent the past five years coaching baseball and also brings six years of experience coaching with USA Wrestling, giving him a unique perspective on discipline, conditioning, and mental toughness. Now in his first year with the Rougarou program, Coach Cosby is dedicated to helping players grow their skills, confidence, and love for the game while building a competitive and supportive team culture.

Coach Beaux Jones
Softball
Paul “Beaux” Jones is a coach, creative, and community-builder whose love for baseball runs deep. A graduate of Airline High School, Jones played baseball through high school and has remained passionate about both baseball and softball ever since. He earned his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University of Shreveport and is currently a graduate student at Centenary College of Louisiana, pursuing a Master of Education in teaching.
Jones has coached Little League baseball for seven years, including coaching his own children along the way, including his daughter Emma, sons Bentley and Landon. He joined the Rougarou Baseball Organization last season as a coach, coached All-Stars this past summer, handles Social Media and Fundraising for the organization, and now coaches softball alongside his wife, Shyanne. His other two children, Charli & Maddox, are never far from the action, making coaching a true family affair.
Off the field, Jones is a fifth grade math teacher at Apollo Elementary School and also coaches Destination Imagination teams at Apollo Elementary and Greenacres Middle School. He is a huge Dallas Cowboys and LSU Tigers fan, a singer-songwriter who enjoys writing poetry, reading, drawing, arts and crafts, and spending time with his family. He is extremely proud that he will be able to work alongside his wife teaching young ladies how to play softball.
For Coach Beaux, sports are about more than wins, it’s about connection, confidence, creativity, and helping kids grow into strong teammates and even stronger people.
